Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders & The London Symphony Orchestra — one continuous nine-movement work.
Promises is the 2021 collaboration between electronic producer Sam Shepherd (Floating Points), the late jazz saxophonist Pharoah Sanders, and the London Symphony Orchestra. Recorded across several sessions in London and Los Angeles, the record unfolds as a single suite in nine movements built around a recurring seven-note motif.
This is the original Ninja Tune UK pressing on 180-gram vinyl, housed in a gatefold jacket with the embossed geometric artwork. Media is graded Mint (M) — played once for grading — and the sleeve is VG+ with only faint shelf wear at the corners. Includes the original printed inner sleeve and download card (unused).
A landmark late-career statement from Sanders and one of the most quietly ambitious records of the decade. Filed under Jazz, but equally at home alongside ambient and modern classical.
